The central library of Bose institute is currently located at the 2nd floor of its Auditorium block in its new Unified Academic Campus (UAC), at EN 80, Sector V, Bidhan Nagar, Kolkata 700091.
It is equipped with books and journals, aligned with the research directions of the institute.
The Library Bose Institute, a national pride, by its history and legacy as it was founded by Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose in the year 1917 in the main campus of Bose Institute. The Systematic Accession Register was started in this Library from 1937. The name of the first such book registered was the "Space, Time and Gravitation" by A.S. Eddington (1929). Later A new wing of the Library has been opened at "Acharya J.C. Bose Centenary Campus" at Kankurgachi, Kolkata in the year 1983. Currently the library at the new campus is the primarily functioning facility.
While these days the journals are accessible online from anywhere within the premises of the institute the text books are available offline, and could be accessed by through memberships. The library has sufficient seating arrangements for the readers who like to visit the library onsite.
