Bose Institute has an established Ph.D. programme in physical, chemical, and biological sciences. The Institute boasts an unparalleled century-old legacy of research excellence in the said disciplines. It is a national pioneer in research on astroparticle physics and cosmic rays, foundations of quantum physics, and interdisciplinary physics. Over the years, path-breaking research in plant sciences, structural biology, molecular biology, biomedical sciences and biotechnology has been conducted at the Institute.

Details, deadlines and updates of advertisements are usually available on the Positions page or on the PhD page. We conduct admissions to our PhD programme twice a year. The sessions begin tentatively in January and July.

The Institute also runs a vibrant Integrated M.Sc. - Ph.D. programme. The Integrated M.Sc.-Ph.D. programme usually begins in August of every year. Details, deadlines and updates of advertisements are usually available on the Positions page or the corresponding admissions page for Life Sciences and Physical Sciences. To be eligible for the Integrated M.Sc.-Ph.D. programme in Life Sciences, the applicant should have qualified JGEEBILS. To apply for the Integrated M.Sc.-Ph.D. programme in Physical Sciences, the applicant should have qualified JEST. Selections are based on subsequent interviews conducted at Bose Institute.
